About DIGITRACE

A European project for digital traceability, compliance and sustainable SMEs

DIGITRACE supports SMEs and education providers in understanding and implementing Digital Product Passport requirements by combining role-based training, sector-specific support, digital tools and collaboration across Europe.

The project brings together a diverse consortium of 10 partners from 5 European countries, including SME support organizations, universities, technology companies and industry associations.

Why This Project Matters

The context driving the need for DIGITRACE

EU Green & Digital Transition

Europe is accelerating its twin transition towards sustainability and digitalisation.

Growing Need for Transparency

Consumers, regulators and markets demand greater product transparency and traceability.

DPP Requirements

Digital Product Passports will become mandatory for many product categories across the EU.

Practical SME Support

Most SMEs lack the resources and knowledge to implement DPP solutions on their own.

Education–Business Connection

VET providers and HEIs need updated curricula that reflect industry needs.

Project Objectives

Six core objectives guiding the DIGITRACE project

Help small and medium enterprises understand and prepare for Digital Product Passport requirements.

Improve digital and green skills

Develop targeted training that builds competences in digital traceability and sustainability.

Create role- and sector-specific training

Tailored learning paths for managers, ICT staff, production teams and more across key sectors.

Develop practical digital tools

Build and share software solutions that make DPP implementation accessible for SMEs.

Create a knowledge-sharing ecosystem

Establish a Knowledge Hub as a central resource for the DPP community.

Support long-term uptake

Drive dissemination, policy engagement and sustainability beyond the project lifetime.
